The Ysleta Independent School District is among only 94 school districts in the state to be named a 2024 District of Distinction by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA)!
This recognition celebrates Ysleta ISD’s commitment to providing a well-rounded education that advocates for and integrates visual arts curricula, and inspiring creativity and fostering social-emotional learning that connects our students to their communities and beyond.
This is just the latest in a string of prestigious awards and designations in the area of fine arts for Ysleta ISD.
In April, the district won the 2024 Best Communities for Music Education award from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Xavier De La Torre also earned the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Distinguished Administrator award in 2023 for his commitment to providing a high-quality, well-rounded educational experience that includes fine arts.
The Ysleta ISD Fine Arts Department strives to make the district synonymous with arts excellence by inspiring all students to appreciate their cultural heritage and to meet their full potential in a variety of programs, media, and interactions.
TAEA is the largest state professional organization for art educators in the United States. It is the mission of TAEA to promote quality visual arts education through leadership, advocacy, service, and professional development.
