Prohibited Harassment and Sexual Harassment
The following information is provided in response to 34 C.F.R. Part 106.8 of the 2020 Title IX Regulations, mandating notice of a nondiscrimination policy and adoption and publication of grievance procedures that provide for the prompt and equitable resolution of student and employee complaints. In accordance with Title IX, the district does not, and is required not to, discriminate on the basis of sex in its educational programs or activities. The requirement not to discriminate extends to employment.
Prohibited harassment of a student is defined as physical, verbal, or nonverbal conduct based on the student’s race, color, religion, sex, gender, national origin, age, disability, or any other basis prohibited by law when the conduct is so severe, persistent, or pervasive that the conduct:0)
Affects a student’s ability to participate in or benefit from an educational program or activity, or creates an intimidating, threatening, hostile, or offensive educational environment;
Has the purpose or effect of substantially or unreasonably interfering with the student’s academic performance; or
Otherwise adversely affects the student’s educational opportunities.
Prohibited harassment includes dating violence as defined by law and this policy.

Procedures to Report Sexual Harassment
Any student who believes that he or she has experienced prohibited conduct or believes that another student has experienced prohibited conduct, whether from a district employee, another student, or someone else, should immediately report the alleged acts to a teacher, school counselor, principal, other District employee, or the lead Title IX Coordinator listed on this page.
The Title IX Coordinator can advise you on how the report will be investigated promptly with confidentiality, what supportive measures can be put in place for you during the investigation, and how a formal complaint can be filed. Inquiries about the application of Title IX may be referred to the district’s Title IX Coordinator, to the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights of the Department of Education, or both.All materials used to train Title IX personnel can be found on this page, under the Title IX training section.
