Born and raised in El Paso, Priscilla de Mata is a fully bilingual first-generation American. A proud former student of YISD, she earned both a B.A. in Political Science and a Master's in Leadership Studies with a concentration in Border and International Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso. Ms. Mata received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho College of Law.
As a former associate attorney with Blanco Ordonez Mata & Wechsler, P.C., Ms. Mata practiced in the areas of labor and employment litigation and school law. She previously represented five area school districts and other governmental entities as outside general counsel.
Ms. Mata is an executive board member of the George A. McAlmon American Inn of Court, a board member of the El Paso Bar Foundation, and a past president of the El Paso Women's Bar Association.
