2022-23 SCIENCE FAIR WINNERS
Ysleta ISD is pleased to announce the winners of the State Science Fair. Students Victoria Abarca and Rylie Lieberwirth from the Young Women's Leadership Academy placed first in the Junior Division at the Texas Science and Engineering Fair in College Station in March. The Fair is one of the state’s best middle and high school science and engineering competitions that highlights the top life and physical science projects throughout 22 categories.
The Fair plays an important role in the lives and future careers of many students as they learn the critical thinking skills that are necessary to thrive in any field. The science fair is more than creating a science project; it is a complete educational process.
Students Daisy Corralejo and AnaSofia Chavarria from Valle Verde Early College High School won Best in Show – Senior Division at the Sun Country Regional Science Fair (sponsored by Insights Museum) in February allowing them to compete at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Dallas in May. ISEF is the world's largest pre-college STEM competition. More than 1,500 students from 70 countries and territories compete for scholarships, tuition grants, internships, scientific field trips, and grand prizes.
